Existere Academy Values

A brown and gold heraldic shield with Latin text and symbols.

Our Crest

Shield (Main Crest Element)

Shape & Color: A traditional heraldic shield in deep crimson and gold — symbolizing valor, excellence, and legacy. This echoes the academic prestige of classical institutions and reinforces the educational values upheld at Existere Academy.

Rampant Horse (One quadrant of the shield)

A rearing horse (rampant) represents freedom, strength, and spirited leadership. The posture — upright on hind legs — symbolizes readiness, courage, and a sovereign will to act. This aligns with Existere Academy's emphasis on character development, accountability, and self-discipline.

Arrow Pointing North & the "V" Symbol

Arrow Pointing North symbolizes aspiration, clarity, and purposeful direction. North is traditionally associated with guidance, much like a compass — pointing students toward higher standards, growth, and moral direction. It represents a constant movement upward, both intellectually and in character. The "V" Shape stands for Veritas, the Latin word for Truth. Its placement in the same quadrant as the arrow implies that truth must be an essential part of one’s trajectory. It reflects that progress is meaningless without integrity and honesty at its core.

Sword and Feather Pen (Crossed)

Sword: Represents strength, justice, and the readiness to defend truth and virtue. Feather Pen: Symbolizes wisdom, communication, and the power of words. Together, crossed: The union of thought and action, a key value of Existere Academy.

Hourglass (Almost Empty)

A visual metaphor for urgency, time’s passage, and the importance of now. Suggests students should act with purpose, as time is limited. Reinforces reflection, patience, and legacy.

White Jiu-Jitsu Belt

Draped across the top of the shield, the BJJ white belt stands for discipline, humility, and personal growth. It reflects Existere Academy's integration of martial arts as part of physical education, character development, and self-control.

Motto: "Acta Non Verba"

Latin for “Deeds, not words”, this motto is inscribed on the belt itself. It defines the school’s soul: character, courage, and meaningful action over performance or talk.

MMXX
